The Making of Awesome Video Game Memories: Dragon Quest X Review Part 9 – Version 1 Review Finished!

After many long days and sleepless nights, the Dragon Quest X Version 1 Review is finished!

Earlier this week, I put the final touches on the DQX review and am proud to say it’s finally done!

The final part of the video was green screening myself into the intro like I did with the DQXI review. Here is the raw green screen screen shot.

Final green screen shot with me kneeling down.

There are also several shots where I need to get behind an actual object in the intro. Here is the raw shot in Adobe After Effects highlighted with the rotobrush tool.

The entire floor object now masked over. Repeat this for several frames with the rotobrush tool.

Jumping off!

Facing Danger.

Walking out with friends.

Without giving away the actual runtime, the entire Version 1 review is about as long as the DQXI review since I talk about the gameplay mechanics and the ENTIRE story, so there are spoilers. I have it scheduled for October, but that may change depending on when the new Dragon Quest Dai Anime comes out. I’m thinking of having October be DQX month since October is the 10th month of the year. I’ll lock in a solid date soon, but October is for sure. It took about 2 and a half weeks of editing every single day and sacrificing a ton of my nights to get this all done.

I’m not done yet as I also need to work on the DQX Versions 2-4 reviews which will definitely be a much shorter and smoother process as the footage I recorded for those aren’t as long.

I’m really proud of the review and I can’t wait for all of you to see it this October!
